Nature's Notebook and More City Nature Challenge

May 3 looks to be stellar day, even if the forecast is for breezy, cloudy in the afternoon.  The morning will find Sheila, Sandy, and I in the Cottonwood Gallery taking observations.  I expect that the cottonwoods themselves will be in full swing.  (Late breaking news:  Sheila has a doctor's appointment post hand surgery.  Gerri should be standing in for her.)

The City Nature Challenge will be chugging along and I hope to get some more observations in during the afternoon.  Perhaps a drive out to the West Mesa or up the back side of the Sandias.

Phenology was just Gerri and I with Sheila and Sandy both otherwise occupied.  Things are popping in the Garden:  screwbean mesquite leaves, Atriplex flower buds, fruits on Forestiera and Ribes

Lots of color elsewhere in the Garden as well.
